edition 2025

Ladies and Gentlemen
Dear Friends

We are pleased to invite you to the events of the 15th edition
of Baroque Explorations AD2025!

We are hosting three premiere international events in
three regions of Poland, including two stage premieres
and the inauguration of a collaboration with
a star of Baroque vocals.

The 15th edition of the Festival begins at the Szczawnica springs.
It was here, in the stunning heart of the Pieniny Mountains,
that the Baroque Explorations were born in 2011, initiated by
Agnieszka Żarska and organized from the beginning under the
auspices of the Szczawnica Chamber Choir association.

The project has expanded internationally, and Baroque Explorations
events, featuring renowned artists, have been held in many regions
of Poland and abroad. This season, our productions will be hosted in
Lesser Poland, Lower Silesia, and Bydgoszcz.

We begin with the Central European premiere of Giovanni Bonocini's
"Il trionfo di Camilla" ("The Triumph of Camilla") from 1696.

The performance, in a historical setting and directed by Andrea
Miltnerova,  will be presented by Marek Štryncl, a longtime friend
of our Festival, together  with his Musica Florea Praha Orchestra
and invited soloists.

We are delighted to continue our fruitful collaboration with Czech
artists and with the Dworek Gościnny in Szczawnica, where
Baroque performances are always simply stunning.

The next two events, both performed by Baroque Collegium 1685
under the artistic direction of Agnieszka Żarska, can definitely be
considered an  artistic expansion of Baroque Explorations.
The first is the world contemporary premiere of Godfrey Finger's
semi-opera: "The Fate of Troy,"  with a libretto based on Elkanah
Settle's 1701 drama.  The work, like Bononcini's opera, was associated
with London's  Drury Lane Theatre.
Revived after 324 years, it will be performed again on
October 10th at the Spa Theatre in Szczawno-Zdrój /Silesia/Poland.

The final event of this year's edition will be the inauguration of
a  collaboration with the outstanding Italian singer Sonia Prina.
The artist will perform in a spectacular and emotional program:
"From Handel to Mozart."

The concert will take place on November 4th in Bydgoszcz,
in the inspiring, post-industrial space of the Rother's Mills.

We wish you beautiful moments and unforgettable experiences!
